At First Baptist Oviedo our purpose is to become passionate followers of Jesus Christ by worshipping God, growing together and serving others.
How do we accomplish this?
The first step for growth at First Baptist Oviedo is to participate in worship. Worship is a natural expression of praise and thanksgiving to God. It is the place where God’s Word is taught every Sunday. It is a place to sing, to pray, to learn and to draw closer to God. Worship with others is foundational to growth as a passionate follower of Jesus Christ.
The next step is to connect with others in Small Groups. Small Groups are where Bible study and relationships with others are best developed. Practical Bible study and the friendship and support of others provide strength, encouragement and direction as we seek to know God and to live through the challenges life throws at us.
The third step is to grow by serving others. This step takes us out of the classroom and into the world. It is in this step that we can make a tangible difference in the Kingdom of God. Serving can be teaching a Small Group (of any age from the youngest to the most mature), going on a mission trip, becoming involved in a local ministry, singing in the choir, playing in the orchestra, assisting with media and many other opportunities. Growing believers are active in serving others.
All along the way, we want to encourage others to join us on the journey. Reaching out to our neighbors with the love of God is the motivation for all we do.
