Our Mission
The Senior Adult Ministry at First Baptist Oviedo seeks to honor God and to develop passionate followers of Jesus Christ. We do this by providing opportunities for senior adults to worship God faithfully, grow spiritually, fellowship with one another, serve the Lord within our church family while reaching out to seniors in our ministry area.
This ministry is open to all interested individuals who are 65 years of age or over. We’re here to help by providing opportunities for service, a community of friends, and a place for fellowship. You’ll discover that your time and talents are needed, your wisdom and willingness are valued, and your experience and expertise are important to us.
Currently, over 200 senior adults participate in our ministry. These active, energetic and dedicated people are involved in many areas of ministry within our church. Through participation in our Small Group Bible studies, outreach opportunities, church ministries and social activities, our growing ministry also encourages senior adults to live the abundant life in Christ that is promised in John 10:10.
All interested seniors are encouraged to be a part of this vibrant and active ministry. With people living longer and healthier lives, older adults play an important, if not pivotal, role in helping to shape the faith and character of future generations.
