Music, both vocal and instrumental, can be a powerful expression of Worship. Worship means to give honor or to ascribe worth and value to something. Everyone understands worship on some level, whether they call it that or not. God is pleased when we worship Him. We have the responsibility in the Music Ministry to equip people with the skills and teaching needed to experience worship in their lives, and also to lead the congregation in musical worship.
Our Music Ministry is an exciting place to learn, lead, and experience worship through music. We have a wide variety of service opportunities for vocalists, as well as instrumentalists. We are a teaching ministry, so anyone with a desire to be involved will be utilized in service.
At First Baptist Oviedo, quality musical and worship experiences begin at an early age. We begin with three year olds and continue through the senior adults. Our Children's Choirs are age graded with at least one choir for every year of life from age three through fifth graders to provide a basic exposure to music while building a firm foundation. For our children’s workers, music is a tool used to bring spiritual growth for us all! These groups perform on special occasions and two times a year the older children sing in our Worship Services.
