Kaleo (pronounced "KUH - LAY - OH") is a Greek word meaning "to call" or "to be called". We are a generation striving to LOVE, LIVE, and SERVE Jesus. We want to LOVE God and others, LIVE in community together, and SERVE the world together.

We believe that we are called [Kaleo] to live like Jesus lived while He was on the earth, loving others (even those who seem impossible to love) by serving one another, forming lasting relationships, and challenging each other in truth.

We believe that no matter how hard we try, no matter how "good" we are,  it's impossible to live a perfect life. Part of being human means that we make mistakes. We tell lies, cheat on tests, steal, and think about doing things far worse.

We believe that because of the things that we do, we all deserve to die and live separated from God. And then- Jesus.

We believe Jesus is the Son of God who lived a life as a carpenter thousands of years ago. He was born miraculously from a virgin, lived an absolutely perfect life, performed many miracles, and then undeservingly gave His own life so that all of us could live. Three days after suffering a brutal death being nailed to a cross, He came back to life, defeating death and giving us hope.

Because God is a God of justice, the penalty for the wrong things each of us has done had to be paid. But, because He loved all of us, He sent Jesus to die in our place. Jesus died that we all might live.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life."
