Kaleo (pronounced "KUH - LAY - OH") is a Greek word meaning "to call" or "to be called". We are a generation striving to LOVE, LIVE, and SERVE Jesus. We want to LOVE God and others, LIVE in community together, and SERVE the world together.

We believe that we are called [Kaleo] to live like Jesus lived while He was on the earth, loving others by serving one another, forming lasting relationships, and challenging each other to live in truth.

We believe that no matter how hard we try, no matter how "good" we are, it's impossible to live a perfect life. “All have fallen short of the glory of God” Therefore, our sin has separated us from God and the relationship that we were created to have with Him.

But scripture teaches that God is FOR us. Though we sinned against Him, he loved us so much that he would not leave us in our just penalty of spiritual death, “for the wages of sin is death (Rom. 3:23),” but he is for us to the point of giving his own life to pay our penalty. Though we are justly separated from Him in His perfect holiness where darkness (sin) cannot dwell, He doesn’t forsake us, but sends His son to become ONE OF (fully God and fully man) us to live the life that we couldn’t live (perfect obedience and holiness), and give us a gift that we could not earn (salvation is by grace) by paying our penalty of death on the cross, and raising from the grave to overcome sin and death, so that all who place their faith in Him would no longer be under the curse of sin. And in so doing, our unrighteous penalty was paid by Christ, and we are given his perfect righteousness. This means that we are not only wiped clean of sin, but we are made good in the eyes of a Holy God. Making us who were once enemies of God in our sin, brought close to Him through the blood of Christ, and given the position of JESUS... no longer enemies, no longer in slaves to sin, no longer unrighteous deserving death, but made sons and daughters of God.

So that by faith in Christ we have a restored relationship with God the Father, and scripture teaches that when we place our life in Christ the spirit of God dwells in us, and transforms out lives from the inside out. Meaning we do not obey the commands of God to gain anything, but we obey because we have been given everything and understand that when we live the way our Father has created us to live we are most satisfied. Therefore, we Love God with all our heart, soul, and mind. We live together in community as brothers and sisters in Christ, and we serve those around us so the community that God has sent us to can see the works of Christ through us, and experience the transformation from spiritual death to life offered through Christ by our sharing of His truth.
